The iPhone 5S has the same 4” inch diagonal screen and 1136×640 resolution as the iPhone 5. But Apple has definitely presented its latest device with a number of arresting functionalities. All while preserving its eminently thin and light design – 7.6 mm thick and 112 grams heavy – and rounded angles, the phone runs on an A7 processor with a 64 bit structure, known to be the fastest around. Offering more fluidity, the iPhone 5S takes on a whole new secret agent allure with the new Touch ID. With a simple press, the digital fingerprint reader unlocks the device. More impressive than ever. But the greatest novelty resides in a powerful camera the likes of which has never been seen. With new viewfinder modes, slow motion mode, video montages, or wireless Airplay sharing technology through ultra-rapid 4G LTE connectivity, the iSight camera is impressive to say the least. Its new flash, dubbed True Tone, uses two different-colored LED lights, one white and the other yellow, for more warmth.
An aesthetically pleasing screen, chiseled down to the last detail. Indeed, it’s in the details that the iPhone 5S is particularly delectable, equipped with an oil repellant coating on the front side that is resistant to finger marks. The admirable strength of the aluminum casing contrasts with the elegance of metal and glass, while the home button’s sapphire crystal makes the device shine. Such a level of design and sophistication that is today available in three elegant colors: champagne gold, silver, or sidereal grey. It’s unthinkably subtle with an elegance that has finally been commodified.
