An undeniably excellent wine, the Château Valandraud is also groundbreaking; it’s a wine that flirts with the sublime and that has changed many secular Bordelais traditions, especially the “garage” movement in modern winemaking: a scaled down production, so scaled down that it could fit in a garage.

Description : A brilliant creation by Jean-Luc Thunevin, Château Valandraud has been a 1er Grand Cru Classé B from Saint-Emilion since the 2012 vintage. Impressive when you know how far you’ve come! A pioneer in the garage wine movement, Château Valandraud was originally only a 0.6 hectare property and the first vintage, 1991, was only composed of 2000 bottles. The wine was produced in their garage, below their apartment in the heart of Saint-Emilion. Today, the property covers 9 hectares, but the philosophy of Jean-Luc Thunevin and his wife Murielle Andraud has not changed.
