For the new mens Fall/Winter 2014 collection, the legendary damier motif remains just as pervasive. Usually brown and already available in numerous other colors, Kim Jones is now spinning new tales with a few exotic threads. Following a journey to Latin America, she designed a new collection inspired by traditional Chilean garments. Cobalt blue took up its rightful place on two of the brand’s cornerstone accessories: the Keepall 55 and the Keepall 45. Keeping with all the original traits from the 30s, its modernness stemmed from the release of a backpack version. Spacious and compact, Vuitton’s genius resides in the invention of bags that are able to contain an entire vagabond lifestyle in all their characteristically French elegance. The Damier Cobalt collection takes inspiration from a waterfall of blues, from azure skies to the deep blue of the ocean’s depths, a memory of a turbulent flight between two Chilean landscapes, revealing the pleasure of the sensations coupled with the strength of emotion.
