At the 2021 edition of Pebble Beach held last August, Lamborghini presented an absolutely breathtaking model, a modern homage to the Countach which also bares the same name: the Countach LPI 800-4.
And for the first time since its official presentation, the Italian sports car, derived from the Aventador, has finally come to know “real asphalt” on the open road. To honor the occasion, it was taken on a drive with its two predecessors: the first series LP 400, and the 25th Anniversary model which served as the final edition.

The new Countach LPI 800-4 shares the same engine as the Lamborghini Sian, after which it takes the terminology: “LPI” which stands for “Longitudinale Posteriore Ibrido” (rear position
longitudinal hybrid), indicating the position of the 6.5-liter V12 engine and the super-capacitor electrical system with which it is equipped, followed by “800” which indicates the horsepower.
The number “800” may be misleading, because it is rounded down. Indeed, the V12 goes up to 780 horsepower, to which must be added the 34 horsepower from the electrical system powered by the super-capacitor. In total, the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 delivers a whopping 814 horsepower.

Finally, the “4” refers to the driving four wheels, an acronym first seen on the Murcielago, the beginning of the driving four-wheel era at Lamborghini. As a reminder, the new Countach is a limited series of 112 copies, which were already sold out before its presentation.
But then again, this is not a random number, it is a clear reference to “LP 112”, the name of the project used on the inside during the development of the very first Lamborghini Countach. The first deliveries of the Countach will begin during this first quarter of 2022. Despite the fact that Lamborghini has not officially revealed the price of its new model, it is rumored that it is around 2.2 million euros.
