A discreet and natural elegance, a luxurious and minimalist seduction. The L by Lancel is the in vogue bag this season, somewhere between vintage and creation. Retracing the old line of a bag found in the brand’s archives, the L is inspired by a style from a collection released in the 70s. It also borrows from the ingeniousness of the mythical 1900 “Sac à Malice”; this “drawer” style bag with secret pockets was able to hold necessities like stationery or smoking accessories depending on the personality of the woman wearing it out.
Just like its predecessor, the L is composed of two compartments that conceal a removable inner pouch with zipper, effectively uniting form and function. Made of soft, delicate leather, it’s available in several sizes, from an XL format to smaller and more elongated. Three special leathers are also present and accounted for: in crocodile, ostrich, or water snake, the L becomes even more precious. As for the colors, they manage to be vintage, classic, and original all at the same time. Black contrasts with ivory and sand, all while melting together with chocolate or grey-taupe. A feature of the original Lancel bags from the 70s, the turning fasteners form the initials of this leathergoods brand.
Practical and refined, the L has made a place for itself both with strength and with sweetness, with a little help from its chic, pure, and sophisticated curves. It is synonymous with the image of the Parisian woman, with the Lancel woman. Somewhere between the past and innovation, the brand affirms its power to create through the inspiration present in its original products. While continuing to incorporate the style values of founder Angèle Lancel, they have also been keeping their iconic pieces modern ever since 1876. In between fashion and eternity.
