“I think the work of a designer should be of good quality, beautiful and inexpensive. With the Eclipse lamp I overcame the trauma of expensive design. This lamp was ready many years before I went into mass production. I had the idea but did not want to launch it until I was able to manufacture it at a reduced cost. Design should be accessible to the vast majority of us. I don’t think it’s good or even desirable to create things for just half a dozen people. I need popular objects to exist ”Mauricio Klabin.
