This collaboration’s history goes back to the first voyages of Olivier Krug, chapter VI in his family’s brand based in Champagne, France. He who split his time between the caves of Reims and his numerous expeditions as the brand’s ambassador wondered what the best way would be to travel with a bottle of Krug. By creatively tracing immediate inspiration from the Krug experience, Olivier hoped to put all the generosity and elegant finesse of his nectars into an ideal road companion that could go anywhere, like a waterproof champagne case. While in the past it was Paul Krug bumping elbows with Pauline Moynat – who would inspire the curves of the Réjane and the Pauline – during the Universal Exposition of 1900, today it’s Olivier Krug and Ramesh Nair who are coming together to create a travel accessory made for the most noble of pursuits: sharing.
The starting point: a passion for creativity and excellence. Moynat’s creative director, designer of quintessential desires in luxury luggage, shares all the munificence of the champagne brand. He started by creating a trunk for Magnum Krug Grande Cuvée, who’s shapes espouse the champagne glass and its curves. It’s a trunk made with finesse and extreme elegance, made of natural leather in accordance with 19th century techniques, made to transport Krug Grande Cuvée, to taste the moment. Molded, counter-molded, pinched, and sewn, the leather is dyed an intense black cherry color. The aesthetics can be traced back to original notes by founder Joseph Krug. Whether it’s for just a few hours or for a few days, any destination deserves to have a few moments of sharing and generosity. You can’t go wrong with this leather champagne case.
