The new collection was dubbed ‘Chanel Ground Control’ – the immense glass dome of the Grand Palais was indeed able to take on airs of a launchpad. But this is first and foremost about fashion and not technology; Karl Lagerfeld thus reached for the stars and all their poetry to bring out this Fall/Winter 2017-2018 collection.
On an immaculate white catwalk built around the imposing rocket “to blast off from reality”, the outer space fantasy of one of the greatest French couturiers went down the runway. One of the most memorable pieces from this collection is this starry midnight blue tweed jacket with pearled braids. Original and highly desirable, it’s truly a piece that gives off emotion.
