Following 2012’s Nail, an ensemble of rings and bracelets revisiting the famous Clou bracelet, created by Aldo Cipullo in 1971, Cariter is making us nostalgic for the 2000s with its re-release of the famous Nouvelle Vague collection. “In 1999, we launched a jewelry collection called Paris Nouvelle Vague”, explains Pierre Rainero, Creative Director of Heritage for Cartier. “The seven models first shared the same source of inspiration, Paris; they then proposed a more contemporary wearing, in line with the lifestyles of women; finally, they showed several creative directions in terms of design, techniques, or materials. Today’s line situates itself in the continuity of the benchmarks achieved in 1999 with different volumes.”

Cartier is seeing big and launching a vast collection of jewelry inspired by Paris, the eternal City of Light. Forty references that cover the ground of Cartier’s exceptional savoir-faire. From delicate rings dotted with ripples of grey gold, white gold, and black lacquer to imposing torques and bangles who’s opals, diamonds, and amethysts give off a Haussmanian vibe, to pink gold cuffs cloaked in diamonds, the collection has the ambition to please everyone: “Cartier imagined jewelry that endorses an allure, translating modernity and liberty. The idea being that these rings and necklaces accompany women from morning to night. This collection reflects the multiplicity of possibilities. In jewelry just like in fashion, major trends don’t exist anymore, there’s less diktat. The expression of femininity happens through different facets.”
