The discreet and lesser-known partner, Andreas Kronthaler is presenting his second collection for Westwood. This label grew along with the punk movement; today that aesthetic seems to have become an integral part of the fashion landscape. That’s no doubt why Kronthaler preferred to work with perspectives and aesthetics that the brand has already explored. This collection puts an accent on unisex pieces, playing with a pairing of different fabrics – inspired by Brexit and thought of in the light of Boucher’s painting “Le Viol d’Europe”, the artist has signed off on a stripped down and rebellious line where off-beat reality subtly meets fashion through a red that flows forth from the lips as if tainted by an unwanted embrace.
Rebellious, the Westwood woman pursues the exploration of a Pagan style that’s overflowing with joy – with shades of grey, red, and burgundy, this look has all the characteristic asymmetry of Westwood’s signature. Genres are mixed and pieces matched in a patchwork that combines tribal motifs and ordinary stripes. This spirituality with a dose of sexiness becomes sensual when, in a clear reference to the 70s, Kronthaler sets a new foundation for Westwood style. More fluid, the perspective is maintained, all while insisting on the brand’s committed spirit. Stay tuned for more.
