Andorra is home to the largest ski area in the Pyrenees, but it was the Areny family, known as Calbó, who put the area on the map. At the dawn of the 20th century, travellers crossing the Pyrenees were already stopping off at Casa Calbó – warm and chic, the stopover was soon transformed by the impulse of mountain enthusiasts.

These enthusiasts are none other than the members of the Areny family – known as Calbó – who founded the first ski equipment shop in Soldeu, Sport Calbó, in the 1970s. Today, the Principality of Andorra can boast one of the most important hotel complexes in southern Europe, the Sport Hotels Resort & Spa.

The only five-star hotel in Andorra and the only member of the Leadings Hotel of the World. It is a place of luxury and gastronomy, whose Ibaya restaurant, in the hands of chef Jordi Grau, has been awarded a Michelin star!
