It’s in their boutique at 7 rue de la Paix that Piaget will be putting some of its most beautiful ultra-thin pieces up for display. A master in the art of extreme miniaturization, the occasion has finally arisen to physically trace back all the extraordinary savoir-faire of the Swiss manufacturer’s movements. This retrospective completely immerses visitors into a universe of legendary finesse.
On the outside, the deep blue window display fuses with Piaget’s men’s universe through the use of slender furniture, from a Djuna Takahama table to a Le Corbusier chair with masters such as Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand in between.
This exhibit, entitled “La Grande Ligne Mythique Horlogère”, will also be the occasion to present a new ultra-thin manually rewinding watch: the Altiplano Chronographe. It’s a new record in finesse for this line whose contemporary and purified attributes once more house a complex watchmaking feat indeed. Issued from the demanding art in which the manufacturer has excelled since 1957, this 883P manually rewinding movement operates within 4.65 mm to fit into a casing that’s just 8.24 mm thick. This is the modern incarnation of purity and elegance, harmoniously anchored into a new creation with a sober and timeless character. A true icon in the making.
