Jean-François Jaussaud has meet Louise Bourgeois in 1994 in his workshop of Brooklyn. Sifted through his questions, the photograph is finally softened by the artist. A first meeting took place in the spring 1995, but on one condition : destroy the images if they don’t please him.
Jaussaud accepts and passes the “test”. He has then obtained carte blanche to freely photograph the workshop and the Chelsea’s house. He will be back for eleven years.
The rare images show one of the greatest modern artists in its intimacy, at the heart of his work.
