Gucci’s pieces have long been easily identifiable – the use of an original seal and superior quality set them apart from the pack. Guccio Gucci chose to distinguish his creations with an inspiration that was both equestrian and that stemmed from his love of auto sports. Available in jewelry form since the 70s, the horsebit, the red-green-red striped band, and Diamantissima have all become part of the very identity of jewelry and the Florentine brand itself. A thin tracing of diamonds craftily, Diamantissima was the brand’s first iconic print. Created in the mid-30s, this diamond motif would first adorn their canvas bags – an elegant and innovative way to get around the post-war leather shortage. Currently engraved on five new styles of timepiece, the Diamantissima shape recalls the curves of a golden lace along a black stainless steel casing.
This new prestigious assortment of female timepieces sports a resolutely feminine style. Subtly detailed, each watch shows off the emblematic diamond motif within a fresh new style. On an ecru background, the PVD-treated casing, colored rose gold and black, is unleashed alongside polished finishings engraved with the diamond motif. At the heart of the timepiece is a Quartz Swiss Made Ronda movement in 22 or 27 mm. Four of the styles boast minimalist dials without any numerals, while a smaller and more precious style (22mm) is composed around a nacre dial highlighted by four diamonds at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’ clock. This is the subtle allure of Gucci, plain and simple.
