Replacing the Carrera GT, the 918 is powered by a traditional V8 combustion engine supported by two electric motors<sup id=\"cite_ref-SP579-29_3-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>It was officially presented for the first time at the 80th edition of the Geneva Motor Show, held in <time class=\"nowrap\" datetime=\"2010-03\" data-sort-value=\"2010-03\">March 2010<\/time>,<sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup> and unveiled in its final version at the Frankfurt Motor Show in <time class=\"nowrap\" datetime=\"2013-09\" data-sort-value=\"2013-09\">September 2013.<\/time> 800,000 at launch, less than its competitors.<\/p>\n<p>An RSR racing version was unveiled in 2011.
