Here is a beautiful book tracing the saga of a family of innovative industrialists who gave birth to some of the most coveted hat collections for decades. Through the reconstituted tools and workshops of the hatter&#8217;s accomplices, we rediscover these craftsmen who combined their know-how to give life to hats. The museum&#8217;s multiple and attractive collections are presented in a layout that highlights the shapes and materials and presents hats according to the major fashion trends, from the 18th century to the most prestigious contemporary designers. From the Museum to the Hat Workshop-Museum in Chazelles-sur-Lyon, five centuries of hat-making tradition. The Hat Museum, which has since become the Workshop-Museum, opened its doors in 1983. Its creation followed the decline of the local mono-industry of hat making. It is dedicated to the preservation of the hat-making memory and the active safeguarding of know-how. It is labeled &#8220;Museum of France&#8221;. The author : \u00c9liane Bolomier, born in Lyon, studied ethnology. Her various research projects in the Monts du Lyonnais region led her to Chazelles-sur-Lyon, where she founded the Mus\u00e9e du Chapeau, which in 2013 became La Chapellerie, atelier-mus\u00e9e du Chapeau.
