Last week, Queen Elizabeth II of England celebrated her platinum jubilee, the equivalent of 70 years on the throne. The British people celebrated the anniversary in style, and Jaguar Land Rover did the same by joining the parade in honour of the 96 year old, with no less than 26 cars, including a Jaguar XKR from the James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’.<\/p>\n\n

Land Rover<\/a> also took the opportunity to donate a new Defender 130 to the British Red Cross to support their UK operations. Jaguar also made a splash by unveiling a very special E-Type, which was also able to take part in the parade on Sunday 5 June.<\/p>\n\n

This is a restored model with an unusual history. This Jaguar E-Type was purchased directly from the brand by a very discerning customer who was looking for an example that was produced in the year of his birth.<\/p>\n\n

A request that the manufacturer was able to meet, and even better, as it was able to get its hands on a model that came out of the factory only two days after its new owner’s birthday. Unfortunately, the car was not in very good condition and needed a major refurbishment. The Jaguar Classic division took care of it and the result was absolutely outstanding. And so the Jaguar Classic division took care of it, and the result is absolutely outstanding.<\/p>\n\n

This beautiful Jaguar E-Type has been given some more contemporary technology, including LED lights and a new blue paint scheme inspired by the Union Jack. Inside, the car is fitted with red leather upholstery and a touch screen.<\/p>\n\n

Under the bonnet there have also been some changes, the 4.2 litre inline six cylinder has here been replaced by an all new 4.7 litre six cylinder. A new five-speed manual gearbox has also been added.
