Pleats Please! \u201cbetween creation and practicalness, between fashion and daily life, between timeless and trendy, between classic and cutting edge\u201d he designed a new breed of iconography for the female wardrobe. Ceaselessly adapting itself to morphology and to the body, the designer is getting involved in this collection in a whole new way. Made of heavier and drier but still airy fabrics, the clothing must demonstrate lightness, comfort, and facilitate movement and maintenance. Built on the movements of rhythmic gymnastic students at Aomori University in Japan, Issey Miyake is once more integrating an artistic piece into his creative process, like he\u2019s done previously with the dancers from William Forsythe\u2019s ballet in the 90s.<\/div>\n
The poetic dimension is an essential measure that he unites with the modern man on the daily. This new line doesn\u2019t depart from its physical dimension, such that he is offering fifteen pieces for this premiere – from a tanktop to a cardigan combined with several different kinds of pants. Conceived for \u201cthe boys of today that don\u2019t wear a tie anymore, dress up less formally, and juggle with styles between street and sportswear\u201d as the designer describes it, these pieces are released in a classical color palette limited to four specific shades: grey, black, khaki, and the most dynamic color of them all: Klein blue. Exclusively available in the new Reality Lab boutique in Tokyo\u2019s Aoyama neighborhood, just inaugurated last November, the l\u2019Homme Pliss\u00e9 collection will be released on a bigger scale starting in 2014 to accompany an easing into the male body of men in the modern world.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
