Moynat has always had a bit of chic to perfect French gastronomy, whether in a recent creation for starred chef Yannick All\u00e9no, or a picnic basket imagined in 1907 to be put on a bike, the Parisian brand has never ceased to invent new ways of relishing in culinary pleasures. One day when creative director Ramesh Nair was strolling through Paris\u2019 commercial district, he was struck by an unprecedented stroke of inspiration upon seeing a Pierre Herm\u00e9 patisserie. From there, he came up with the Macaron Trunk: a unique box with a sun-shaped circle made to put the treats in. The shape is taken from L\u2019Entrepneu, a hat trunk designed by Moynat in 1905 – conceived to fit into the rounded automobile hatch that housed the spare tire.<\/div>\n
For the Macaron Trunk, he reuses the structure formed in a sycamore mold, who\u2019s every component is traced with the help of a compass to obtain the perfect symmetry. It\u2019s a finely worked object that possesses rare beauty; the exterior is covered in raspberry-colored tanned natural leather, largely evoking the colors of Pierre Herm\u00e9. Made to contain edible gems, this box is replete with all the brand\u2019s emblems.
