The Eau de Lacoste perfume collection takes its inspiration in the legacy of one of the brand\u2019s most symbolic pieces: the L12.12 polo, invented by Ren\u00e9 Lacoste for his personal use at the end of the 20s. By giving a \u201cblack slate\u201d to students of graphic design and communication at CSM, Christophe Pillet, director of design for Lacoste, is seeking to obtain an innovative and never-before-seen work of art to reconstitute this passage between white and black. The goal: tell the story of this new fragrance that for the moment is shedding its eternal white in favor of a profound black. To goad them along, each of these artistic reflections provided by students took the flask into account, as well as the concept of Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Noir; in other words, it\u2019s all the timeless elegance of the Lacoste L12.12 polo and the intensity of a warm night that guided them. Before setting off on the creative process, the Saint Martins students received a briefing from the Lacoste team, and in particularly from Christophe Pillet. Amongst these talents, the work of Cade Featherstone absolutely fascinated the label on 95 Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es.<\/p>\n
His interpretation of the briefing was able to perfectly capture Lacoste\u2019s heritage: perpetual innovation and reinvention. By using the symbol of tennis balls, and injecting them with a touch of lightness and audacity, he reinterprets the Lacoste gimmick in black and white. \u201cI wanted to create something pure and simple, that would reflect Lacoste\u2019s heritage while projecting its future. I reinterpreted the traditional shape in an abstract way to obtain something recognizable, but not unforgettable: a black tennis ball.\u201d In this nectar, aromas of refreshing melon accompany fine aromas of Egyptian basil that espouse lavender and verbena. Intense notes of black chocolate intertwined with cashmeran come together with patchouli and coumarin to hold to the skin like the soft black cotton of a polo. This subdued, profound, and inveitable composition of masculine notes is like a transition from light to darkness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
