Mercedes wished to pay tribute to Virgil Abloh, the artistic director of the Louis Vuitton house and founder of the Off-White brand, who died on November 28 at the age of 41, by presenting, in agreement with his family, the Project Maybach to which he had collaborated. \n<\/p>\n\n

Virgil Abloh and Mercedes-Benz began their collaboration several months ago, with a G-Class revisited by the artist and presented in September 2020 under the name of “Project Gel\u00e4ndewagen by Mercedes-Benz and Virgil Abloh”.<\/p>\n\n

Project Maybach is more than just an electrical concept … it is an object of desire. Virgil Abloh worked with Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Daimler, while enjoying a complete creative freedom. The end result is a stunning Safari-style all-terrain model, fitted with wide tires, a roof rack and other adventure accessories.<\/p>\n\n

The hood of Project Maybach is very long, but it’s more than just a simple one. Indeed, the latter is transparent, with solar cells underneath to extend the theoretical autonomy, since it is an electric concept car. There are other cool things, like the ax built into the door jamb or the recessed box at the end of the dashboard, which looks like it can be taken away if you ever think of going for a ride. Trek. The seats also fold completely flat, allowing you to sleep directly in this already iconic car.<\/p>\n\n

Additionally, the car is fitted with off-road tires, an outer roll bar to which is grafted a roof rack, and a spacious, luxurious and bright interior (a window covers the vehicle from the base of its windshield to its rear section) designed to accommodate two people.<\/p>\n\n
