“This design combines the style and characteristics that Frank Gehry is known for, Baccarat’s refinement and Hennessy X.O’s singular cognac. It boasts the merits of the brand’s belnd while also paying homage to the expertise that made it possible in the first place.”, explains Laurent Boillot, the brand president.<\/p>\n\n

It is undeniable that this Hennessy X.O Mathusalem holds the extravagance and elegance that are associated to Frank Gehry’s architecture; take the Bilbao Guggenheim museum, to name only one. For Hennessy’s 150 year jubilee, after havnig reimagined the iconic carafe, Frank Gehry gives us the most intricate expression of his genius yet, under the form of the Hennessy X.O Mathusalem, chiseled like a proper work of art. <\/p>\n\n

Inspired by a timely visit to Cognac and an in-depth demonstration of the expertise that allows for the Hennessy X.O blend, Hennessy X.O’s Mathusalem is an opportunity to seize, through the grandeur of its design, the power of its very essence; carving this container, as splendid and precious as the nectar that it protects, called for innovative techniques and tools. <\/p>\n\n

A Work Of Art In Itself\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

“Personally, I like discovering new things that push the boundaries of what has been done before. I hope that what we have created is to the image of Hennessy’s expertise in regards to elaborating cognacs.”, stated architect Frank Gehry.<\/p>\n\n

After having been drawn by Frank gehry, the Hennessy X.O Mathusalem’s manufacturing was entrusted to the genius artisans at Baccarat, while paying attention that the outcome be as faithful to the original design as possible; the Mathusalem carafe emerges as a sort of shrine that was chiseled from the purest ice, and its transparence unveils the superb Hennessy X.O<\/a> Mahogany coat.<\/p>\n\n

The design and dimensions of the project required over 30 kilos of Baccarat crystal. the artisans’ complex techniques allowed them to create thirty different molds, each dedicated to a specific sculpture, effectively surpassing their already astonishing talents. Hence why this particular Mathusalem is presented in 30 iterations, each sculpted by hand, courtesy of Baccarat.<\/p>\n\n
