Rare and unique pieces amongst the most iconic in the history of fine watchmaking are brought from the collections of the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. Its success is due to their passion for art and culture that, throughout time, has brought them to expound upon their tradition for innovation founded on an appreciation for fine artisanship.<\/p>\n
This watchmaking art is perfectly illustrated by the Star Caliber 2000. In 2000, to mark the new millennium, Patek Philippe presented this marvel of technical innovation: a double-faced pocket watch who\u2019s movement includes some 1,100 pieces. This little mechanical treat is the third most complicated ever created in the world. Its dial shows off the movement of the celestial bodies on the reverse side, as well as the angular movement of the moon and its phases. Also, the Star Caliber 2000 is able to faithfully reproduce the \u201cWestminster chimes\u201d jingle. In all, the KunstWerkUhr exhibit gives quarter to master watchmakers, encrusters, engravers, enamelers, and guillochers to create a flawless relationship with visitors. Also on the agenda, demonstrations carried out by artisans from the Genevan manufacturer, a film from their archives, a multimedia space, and a realtime panoramic projection of Lake Geneva and its geyser just as it\u2019s seen from their historic building on the Rue du Rh\u00f4ne in Geneva.
