Beno\u00eet Gouez, Master Cellar at Mo\u00ebt & Chandon, has managed to bottle the entirety of the oomph and irregularity of the year 2013. The result? Two exceptional vintages, the Mo\u00ebt & Chandon Grand Vintage 2013 and the Mo\u00ebt & Chandon Grand Vintage Ros\u00e9 2013. <\/p>\n\n

2013 marked the 270th anniversary of the house, and it seems that Nature wanted to celebrate the core of the Mo\u00ebt & Chandon expertise when it comes to elaborating its vintages; to create in a cold climate. Indeed, as 2013 announced the return of October wine harvests. <\/p>\n\n

The early winter climate delayed the vegetative cycle and subsequently led to a later october harvest; for Master Cellar Beno\u00eet Gouez, the weather conditions led to a free and bold interpretation of 2013.<\/p>\n\n

The brand’s 75th vintage since 1842, an evident challenge, was dealt with by an ingenious Master Cellar; every grand vintage holds its originality and its character from what it can reveal about its unique year’s own character. <\/p>\n\n

“We easily could have elaborated a vintage centered around a dominant Chardonnay. However, we boldly decided to magniff the Pinots Noirs, carefully selected, which devomnstrated an exceptional chiseled structure. This is why the Grand Vintage 2013 is composed of equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.”, specifies Beno\u00eet Gouez. \n \n<\/p>\n\n
