In the days of a hyper-digitalised world, where matter is wasted or recycled to the heart&#8217;s content, Guerlain hits hard with a thematic tour as inspired as it is poetic.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"370\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.19.20.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.19.20.png 370w, https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.19.20-197x300.png 197w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>Entrusted to the curator Caroline Messensee, the &#8220;When Matter Becomes Art&#8221; exhibition by Guerlain questions the plural, ordinary and sublime relationship between artist and matter. <\/p>\n\n<p>Caroline Messensee&#8217;s spot on path echoes the same innovative approaches of th artists that the exhibition represents. &#8220;The artistic matter becomes plural, simoultaneously tangible and intangible, a dichotomy of a forever mutating contemporary world. By making the <a data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/labeille-limperatrice-et-le-logo-guerlain\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/labeille-limperatrice-et-le-logo-guerlain\/\">bee<\/a> its symbol, Guerlain wears high and proud the values of a perfect nature, that we must contemplate, imitate, sublimate and source with reason and creativity.\u00a0<\/p><p><br data-mce-bogus=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><p><span id=\"_mce_caret\" data-mce-bogus=\"1\" data-mce-type=\"format-caret\"><strong>The Guerlain Exhibition: Making Matter Speak<\/strong><\/span><br data-mce-bogus=\"1\"\/><\/p><\/h2>\n\n<p>Sculptures, paintings, pictures, installations, but also digitally certified works; &#8220;the &#8220;When Matter Becomes Art&#8221; exhibition&#8217;s bias positions itself at the opposite of immaterial research and ties itself to the notion of the alchemis artist. We affirm that matter is not only a basis, but also that creative gesture cannot be born only through confrontation with matter. There are 21 of them, international, emerging or iconic: Ana Silva, Calixte Dakpogan, C\u00e9line Cl\u00e9ron, the emblematic C\u00e9sar, Constance Val\u00e9ro, Dana-Fiona Armour, Georgia Russell, Jean-Charles Blais, Lauren Moffatt, Lee Bul, Lionel Sabatt\u00e9, Nacho Carbonell, Najla el Zein, Philippe Cogn\u00e9e, Philippe Favier, Sabrina Ratt\u00e9, Tomas Libertiny.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"526\" height=\"518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.18.06.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.18.06.png 526w, https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.18.06-300x295.png 300w, https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.18.06-75x75.png 75w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p><p>We cross paths once again with the works of artists that are used to collaborating with fashion and luxury houses; Vin Muniz, Wim Delvoye or even Liu Bolin.\u00a0<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p>By the way, we owe to the latter an NFT specially composed for the occasion that is this exhibition. A digitally certified piece, whose profit, as well as that of other NFTs created for the exhibition, will be donated to the GoodPlanet Foundation, presided by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. This piece is described by Guerlain as &#8220;an unheard of aparatus created by using the cameras from 23 portable phones. It creates a digital tunnel by positioning each lens facing the screen of the previous phone. By passing through this tunnel, the original image is transformed and gives birth to a totally new one.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"430\" height=\"581\" src=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.19.04.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.19.04.png 430w, https:\/\/www.icon-icon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Capture-decran-2021-10-19-a-15.19.04-222x300.png 222w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>Wim Delvoye, for his part, follows his deconstruction of objects we perceive as familiar.
