Before being hailed as the Pope of Pop Art, Andy Warhol was an illustrator for Harper\u2019s Bazaar. His fantastical and colorful illustrations for beauty products would make designer and friend of his Diane Von Furstenberg say that he \u201crevolutionized fashion by instilling flashy colors\u201d. What Warhol loved in fashion was without a doubt the very essence of it &#8211; just as avant-garde as it was a \u201cpopular\u201d art. Andy was addicted to fashion, as evidenced by his addiction for Berlutti\u2019s square-toed moccasins. More proof, he founded the magazine&nbsp;<em>Interview&nbsp;<\/em>in 1969, one of the most influential of its time; anyone who was anyone in fashion, cinema, or art made an appearance. Great designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Halston, and YSL regularly graced its pages, while models like Jerry Hall and Bianca Jagger often posed for it. Warhol influenced the biggest and best, from Frank Gehry to Monsieur Saint Laurent, who he thought of as \u201cthe greatest living French artist of the century.\u201d Indeed, the artist would even go on to create four screen prints of the young designer.<\/p>\n<p>But what\u2019s left of Andy Warhol today? An enormous amount of artists lay claim to his conception, as he foreshadowed the multimedia era, and with it, an expansion of artistic abilities. From September 12th to the 14th, 40 works by this visionary will be put on display at Sotheby\u2019s in Hong Kong. The exhibit From Warhol, With Love will go back on a large part of the artist\u2019s work done on paper; without any overhead theme, you\u2019re led to discover some of the artist\u2019s most coveted works such as \u201cLadies and Gentlemen and Flowers\u201d.
