From stitched red leather to cavalry vibes and an embossed logo, this most contemporary of Guerlain classics is being given a new temporary home this spring. The story is the same, but it\u2019s being told differently this time, albeit loyally to its cavalry origins of yesteryear.<\/p>\n<p>Created by Jean-Paul Guerlain in 1965, Habit Rouge was the first Oriental perfume for men. Inspired by a knight\u2019s journey to Rambouillet, France, this complex and bold composition with vanilla notes upset all the rules of perfumery. Orange, lime, bergamot, and neroli are recognizable as the first notes. But because it\u2019s so versatile and surprising, Habit Rouge is never the same, occasionally revealing its leathery airs, spicy scents, powdery aspects, vanilla, or patchouli. Exciting, sophisticated, this fragrance only took a few years to become one of Guerlain\u2019s emblems.<\/p>\n<p>Alternately warm and vanilla-y, Habit Rouge is genius in the contrasts and emotions it masters.
