Founded in 1945, by C\u00e9line Vipiana, the Maison C\u00e9line quickly got itself a place into the inner circle – among the most creative, inventive, and daring labels of the second half of the twentieth century. But, it was not before the 1960’s that the brand started its own woman-fashion line. Initially created for children, the label eventually opened its door to grown ups, and marked its difference by becoming one of the few to highlight the woman’s figure.<\/p>\n
And, once again, it was the current artistic director Phoebe Philo who brilliantly kept alive the “Vipiana’s legacy”, and shaped her vision of the neo minimalism and the very modern Parisian woman into the heart of her collections — descending from the sensual essence of the Parisian lady, symbolizing the vision of femininity first initiated by Ivana Omazic (a former designer of the house of C\u00e9line’s tree).<\/p>\n
This “chic un peu fou” was crystalized in the neo-court shoes, upon which the most elegant and intransigent fashion icons including Carine Roitfeld, had already mastered. Those hypnotizing wedge heels — and their semi architectural features, circled in valuable and magnificent fabric — made the woman’s figure becoming meticulously tight and abandoning in the same time the idea of being merely original. By being casual and structured altogether, these wedge heels brilliantly imposed their subtle style, combining the delicacy and the trendy aspect of the brand.<\/p>\n
The talent and creativity of Phoebe Philo has given a fresh and new curve to the slipper, vanishing any possible “faux pas” or “excessive expression”. One more time, she has created a collection able to reach the high level imposed by the demanding requests of the urban code of elegance.
