For Fall 2017, Chanel is releasing a line of jewelry filled with charms and other of the Mademoiselle\u2019s favorite things. These small pieces of her story are brought together with the talents of metalworkers for the first time to bring the world jewelry as magnificent as it is inspired. Chanel\u2019s creativity knows few limits &#8211; and jewelry is no exception to this rule. Ceaselessly renewed, always in line with the times, there is no other workshop that can offer pieces that so clearly fit with our modernity via a stroll through the past. Today, these graphic, iconic, and architectural Chanel lines compose the Gallery Collection.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-family:lucida sans unicode,lucida grande,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">These 12 pieces of jewelry constitute a pop-up collection that will be available every two years. For the first, Chanel took inspiration from the Place Vend\u00f4me, pirate red, and the legendary 2.55 gold chain. That\u2019s how \u201cMy Green\u201d was born, a line of sensual pieces that borrow the octagonal motif from the Place Vend\u00f4me, whose curves also inspired the stopper for N\u00b05 perfume. This time, shades of tourmaline and malachite appear on openwork pieces that boast lightness and movement. Cuffs, rings, and breast plates are all made of yellow gold. Then comes the \u201cMy Red\u201d line. Keeping with Chanel\u2019s fascination for pirate red, this intense red teams up with the unlimited sparkle of diamonds to make the jewelry contrast when worn. Like the links of a chain, lines of gold intertwine on graphic jewelry punctuated with intense bursts of red.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-family:lucida sans unicode,lucida grande,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Finally comes the \u201cMy Chain\u201d line. This name is very evocative, knowing the power of the 2.55 chain. Created in February 1955, at the same time as the eponymous bag, this golden chain braided with leather liberated women\u2019s bodies. But the golden chain is also the secret behind the little black jacket that falls so perfectly. In the Gallery Collection, this becomes a fluid chain enclosing a sculptural stone: an octagonal smoked quartz with irregular facets, hemmed with a line of diamonds. This is an exercise in simplified, rigorous geometry. These new icons take on a new meaning through the eye of iconic photographer Sarah Moon, in a series of photos created with actress Keira Knightley as the muse with a particularly mystical blurred aesthetic.
