Aiko, Retna and Os G\u00eameos. These three artists have all at one time or another been bequeathed with the task of reinterpreting Louis Vuitton’s emblematic models. In keeping with the theme of collaborations with the artistic world, the design house is rendering homage to another scarf: that of the late Stephen Sprouse. This collection was presented in Tokyo in November 2012 in the Dover Street Market boutique. Just for the occasion, the boutique hosted a photo exhibit by Olivier Zahm, featuring Chinese actresses decked out in Vuitton creations.<\/p>\n
Street art is here highlighted by three artists: Aiko revisits the iconic Vuitton motif, then splatters it with vibrant colors. The result marks a female presence with an Asian influence, while the graffiti and leopard prints confer give an aura of sparkling softness.This multicolor patchwork entitled the “4 seasons”, perfect for this summer’s flashy trends. The work of the Os G\u00eameos twins is a micro-mosaic of solar and lunar motifs. Here the silk carr\u00e9 scarf is enveloped by a dreamy sky, brought to the next level bywarm, twisted shades of tan and yellow that bring to mind the brand’s iconic colors. American artist Retna takes inspiration from calligraphy and creates a hieroglyphic watercolor piece in transparent pastels, the entire thing mashed up with graffiti and manga-esque elements.<\/p>\n
This collection is so avant-garde that it is being presented like a work of art. Cashmere, silk, and graffiti come together to make for a flashy, colorful, and dreamily alluring scarf.<\/p>\n
