Taken with romantic flair, the designer has centered his collection around the theme of \u201cMagic Lamps\u201d, an evocative title since each of the styles that went down the runway in Milan indeed possesses a bewitching aspect.<\/p>\n<p>Nabokov, Canetti, William Blake\u2026 the references are multiple. \u201cIn this collection, every piece tells a story made of wonders and unorthodox fantasy,\u201d explains Michele. This is how the legendary Flora motif imagined for Princess Grace of Monaco in 1966 borrows from the aesthetics of 1930s Shanghai to create a fascinating allure. Borrowing from baroque opulence, the motif is also printed on a silk foulard, just like Grace Kelly originally asked Rodolfo Gucci, to illustrate the current era and a desire to unearth the richness of details of yesteryear.
