Inside, there is a second row of electrically adjustable sliding seats, as well as a third row of seats offering space for two additional passengers and making it a 7-seater. The trunk has a load capacity of between 645 and 2,100 litres for the 5-seat version and between 565 and 2,020 litres for the 7-seat version.

Aesthetically speaking, the EQS SUV incorporates several characteristic elements of the sedan, starting with the black panel grille and the continuous light band that connects the two optics equipped with “Digital Light” technology with 1.3 million micro-mirrors. When looking at the back, we can find the continuous light strip of the sedan with a curved shape and a 3D light signature.

The range begins with the EQS SUV 450+ which has an electric motor positioned at the rear, with a power of 360 hp and a torque of 568 Nm. Thanks to the 107.8 kWh battery, the range is between 536 and 660 km.

The 450 4Matic version, which features two engines and four-wheel drive, has 360 hp and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. Mercedes announces an autonomy of between 507 and 613 km. The Mercedes EQS SUV 580 4Matic also has two engines and an all-wheel drive. Its power is said to be 544 hp and 858 Nm. Again, the autonomy is between 507 and 613 km.

As a high-end model, the EQS SUV is strongly technological. The car is equipped with Airmatic air suspensions, four steering wheels and augmented reality navigation. These last two features can be improved or added through over-the-air online updates, such as the rear wheel tilt angle changing to 10° instead of 4.5° .

The first deliveries are scheduled for early 2023. Mercedes has not yet announced the prices of its new model, but they should start in France around 130,000 euros.
