Valentino shook up Milan Men’s Fashion Week by presenting Alessandro Michele’s first collection – a dazzling display of creativity and craftsmanship. The former artistic director of Gucci rose to the challenge of designing a Resort 2025 collection for Valentino in just two months since his arrival on March 28… A Cruise 2025 collection that marks a significant turning point for the fashion house.

Entitled “Before the Debuts,” this collection includes 171 ready-to-wear outfits and 93 accessories, offering a wide range of styles and prints. Alessandro Michele drew inspiration from Valentino Garavani’s legendary 1968 Sfilata Bianca, while adding his own touch that is deeply rooted in the collective memory. The collection thus features coats with fur-trimmed collars, ruffled mini dresses, and a variety of prints, such as houndstooth, paisley, checks, and leopard, a signature of Alessandro Michele.

“I started working at Valentino as if we were an orchestra; each played their instrument with so much love and dedication that I thought it would be fair to be grateful to the people who worked tirelessly to make this happen,” Alessandro Michele told Vogue. “My job is to tune the instruments, and everything is about sharing, so keeping the collection hidden would not have seemed right. It is a beginning born of love – it must be brought to light, seen, and shared.”

Since its founding in 1960 by Valentino Garavani, the Valentino house has been renowned for its sophisticated elegance, embodied by iconic codes like Valentino red and haute couture pieces. With “Before the Debuts,” Alessandro Michele not only pays homage to Valentino’s heritage, but he also reinterprets it with a contemporary vision, proving that innovation can elevate tradition… The collection exemplifies how Valentino can merge its rich past with avant-garde ideas, thus promising a new direction for the house!
