The Gommino was created with the intention of mixing classic Italian chic with a shoe that would be practical for any occasion. A shoe that, inspired by driving shoes of the 50s, would be covered with “pebbles” under Tod’s guise. A distinctive feature composed of 133 rubber nubs in the same color as the leather used for the shoe. Delicate and functional, the spirit of casual is given off by the shoe; a weariness of stuffy nobility. Sewn in the best leathers and benefiting from the region’s artisanal savoir-faire, this light-soled moccasin immediately established itself as a quality product.
A unique style, an icon in the fashion world that, for the 2014 campaign, exposes and reveals soft and lively colors. Tod’s and its creative touches have been able to make the moccasin a symbol of timeless style. Bruno VanMossevelde chose to center the Gommino’s imagery around himself; ankles and legs, perfected with teasing elegance, play with the unique spirit of Italian style down to the smallest details.
