The Perrier x Murakami Collaboration At The Perrotin Gallery

The colorful collaboration of Perrier x Murakami is on display until Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Perrotin gallery!

It is at the heart of the innovative Perrotin gallery where Perrier and Takashi Murakami have chosen to invite the public to discover the results of this very inspired collaboration!

Around a playful presentation in the image of Perrier and the madcap pop universe of Murakami, the public is invited to enter into the creative process around the preparatory drawings for the Perrier x Murakami collaboration.

Better, since the Perrotin gallery is known to never do things by halves, the public can also try to win new objects and offset prints numbered and signed by Takashi Murakami from the collaboration.

The Perrier x Murakami Collaboration

In 150 years of existence, the Perrier house has seen many artists reimagine the design around its iconic curved glass bottle. The most striking? Undoubtedly that of Salvador Dali who, in 1969, imagines a poster slipped into the pages of France-Soir and of the Figaro. Readers came across a Perrier poster printed in brightly colored shades, when they were not gold!

Thus, the choice of Takashi Murakami for this new limited edition of Perrier bottles finds itself in close connection with the poppy artistic heritage of the house.

For his 27 years of working with the Perrotin Gallery, Takashi Murakami was one of the first artists to open the boundaries between art, manga and fashion. In 2003, he collaborated for the first time with the Louis Vuitton house around a line of bags where the mythical LV monogram was then adorned with Murakami characters. In colorful versions on black or white canvases, this collaboration was pioneering in many ways.

How Perrier Inspired Murakami

Takashi Murakami used his iconic smiling flowers to better symbolize the effervescence of Perrier small bubbles.

“When Perrier contacted me, I thought it was a chance to collaborate with a brand with such a long history. Its name was associated with a number of positive images in my head, like when I moved to New York when I was 32, and I drank a lot of Perrier.

I associate Perrier above all with the color green of course, but also with the strength of its bubbles. I am honored to have been invited to join this project and to be able to take part in the development of the brand and the evolution of its concepts. “

In June 2021, the event of Roland Garros, of which Perrier is a historical partner, once again inspired this artistic journey in the heart of the Perrotin gallery, in the Marais in Paris.

This year, Perrier is launching a new limited edition of bottles in the colors of the Roland-Garros tennis tournament! Resulting from their collaboration with Takashi Murakami, this special edition adorned with an unpublished work by Murakami with the tamped earth of the Roland-Garros courts, is also presented at the Perrotin gallery!
