Nike knows how to cause a frenzy when it comes to their limited edition sneakers. When the brand announces a pair’s release (or rerelease), odds are it won’t be in stores for much longer than 2 days at max! Now in 2014, Nike is doing what it does best and creating a worldwide buzz around its sneakers. After the release of the Air Yeezy by Kanye West, it’s now Riccardo Tisci, the talented creative director for Givenchy, who’s lending his initials and his creativity to the quintessential athletic brand. He’s offering his personal vision for the shoe, “democratic” and “unisex”.
On March 21st, Nike presented its capsule collection “Nike + RT” including 4 pairs of Air Force 1s. The line goes from the shortest to the highest of shoes, arriving almost at the knee, a first for Nike. The first edition is (was) available in white. Sorry; already sold out! For those unlucky souls who couldn’t get to Colette on the day they were released, a black collection is set to come out on April 1st.
