“The collection alludes to the world of drawing, sometimes exaggerated costumes fashioned by celebrated opera artists.” Angela Missoni is delivering a collection that’s enamored by Eastern influences; in her own words, “the ambiance reveals a charming young girl from Shanghai enamored by the Chinese tradition.” Imbued with audacity and graphic details, the designer is apposing the iconic Italian zigzag on different silhouettes, some of them oversize, some extra-tight. But one thing remains constant next winter: the colors are electrified. Black, white, bright red with orange and lime green, all of it softened in light pastel shades from apricot to blue with grey in between.
And so, the Missoni knit takes on long jackets and capes with a masculine cut stitched in certain places with narrow lapels. At times you can distinguish a jacquard motif expanding out as never before, distorting the abstract, spectacular, and emblematic identity of the Missoni zigzag in the meantime. The woman of next winter is bound to be ultra-feminine, playful, and ever so free !
