“Atelier Versace is authentic couture. I wanted to honor construction and deconstruction, the provocation being the elimination of fabric to accentuate the modernity of the Couture.” Donatella Versace is reuniting with the very essence of her Couture for next season: a fashion balanced between the flippancy of the 50s and ultra-contemporary materials. 31 ultra-worked silhouettes, no surprise, smile down on the most luxurious of materials. Like an exploration of elegance through the ages, Donatella Versace tries to transcend every woman: going from the modern independent glamazon to a woman with more classic elegance, the inspired Versace girl is softened by the strength of her silhouette through rounded shoulders. These extravagant coats literally seem to take hold of the model’s body.

But this time, the fur is made lighter. Made of mink patchwork, it espouses rivers of crystal with a certain finesse. The lightness coat from Atelier Versace is an opulent coat made of silk organza where a blue mink patchwork and indistinguishable crystal chains, specially created by Swarovski for this collection, interfere. Bright colors are made scarce: black and midnight blue reign supreme in a collection that favors somber shades. Somewhere between sensuality pushed to the extreme and blooming femininity, the artifact comes together around the theme of deconstruction – a wisely orchestrated deconstruction at that. The end result expertly reveals the woman’s body.
