“I took inspiration from dance, poetry, lace, landscapes,” announced creative director for Lanvin Bouchra Jarrar. For her second season in this position, the French designer created a strictly monochrome line with iconic pairings and noble, atypical fabrics. A soft pastel pink, a dark blue, and strokes of green or purple all appear on shirts and suits made of satin. These are garments imagined for the Lanvin woman that is privy to attending cocktail parties – immaculately dressed. With their pretty cuts, high-waisted gabardine pants, skirts, and custom-made jackets are decorated with tulle frills and other inserts.
A style, a look, a purely Parisian silhouette celebrates everything that is French elegance. Admired around the world, Lanvin is the figurehead of this line – today, the Lanvin woman is choosing to slip into a diaphanous ivory dress with tulle and lace segments. In the meanwhile, this woman has taken on a blending of genres that is all in all quite distinguished.
