The designer duo at the reins of Kenzo, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, decided to play with a mix of genders for next season. Men and women came together for a very particular runway. The prints seem to be inspired by the arctic, where the elements run wild. It’s a joyous mixture of future icons that went down the runway in Paris. These pieces seem to pay homage to colors and their many exuberant pairings, as if it were the very mark of the brand’s founder. It’s a very post-modern association, playing with levels and different points of views that frame a collection based, curiously, on the outdoors. Kenzo is first and foremost an urban label with a fascination for nature.

The piece to remember for this runway is the Harlequin suit that looks like it’s straight out of the Commedia Dell’Arte and meeting modernity here. Cut very close to the body to launch men onto vibrant gradients, the Harlequin suit is revisited here in a bit more of a classic version that’s still decidedly retro. This is a surefire way to close Men’s Fashion Week on an intellectual note.
