It’s a bistro named Gabrielle that housed the runway for the Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collection. A luxurious establishment with très Parisian décor. Also very Parisian was the runway’s ambiance: sitting on a terrace, a cigarette in hand, Chanel’s beauties brought back Gabrielle’s legend in an instant. But it was far from nostalgia for times gone by, since Karl Lagerfeld is vigorously reinventing the Parisienne. The Fall/Winter 2015-2016 season will be the occasion for Chanel to definitively anchor its classics in modernity.
The little black dress, the brand’s absolute icon, takes on a whole new silhouette: elegantly cut in muslin, its trapeze shape redraws an airy femininity, soft but still stylish upon contact with a maxi plastron of organza origami. More free, more fluid, the woman who wears it will be the one to make it divinely seductive, and no longer the contrary… Chic, plain and simple.
