The Champagne Food Pairings By Veuve Clicquot Rosé

The house’s iconic champagne becomes ideal for enjoying summer dishes as it should be!

Le Veuve Clicquot Rosé, A Story of Audacity and Taste

A process initiated over 200 years ago

Veuve Clicquot Rosé is one of the most emblematic cuvées of the house. And for good reason ! Created over 200 years ago by Veuve Clicquot , this rosé is the very first blended rosé known. The first blending rosé that quickly changed the codes of champagne.

The process represents all the audacity and innovation of Veuve Clicquot. The first woman to head a champagne house, was also the one by whom the tinting process of the rosé left its place to the blending.

An art of assembly which consists in selecting red wines and still white wines, of exceptional quality before assembling them! A process then initiated in 1818 which was quickly taken up by the other champagne houses.

The Veuve Clicquot Rosé blend today

Combining 50 to 60 different vintages, the blend of the Veuve Clicquot Rosé cuvée is based today on the traditional blend of Veuve Clicquot Brut Carte Jaune. Its very particular structure, the Veuve Clicquot Rosé draws it from the predominance of Pinot Noir.

It is also in the reserve wines that Veuve Clicquot Rosé derives all its aromatic strength. Then comes the addition of still red wine from black grapes. This is where the cuvée gains it’s power and intensity!

Finally, the blend is bottled; kept for three years in the cellar. An exemplary craft which, when tasted, capsizes the taste buds with a bright pink robe, highlighted by copper reflections.

The scent is generous and elegant, with intense aromas of red fruits such as raspberry, wild strawberry or blackberry. Next come gourmet notes of cookies, almonds, brioche and apricots.

Enough to marry the most delicious dishes. Which ones?

What should you use with Rosé Veuve Cliquot champagne? The house replied that it is ideal for summer dishes!

Its fruity aromas and unctuous texture virtuously accompany the freshness of summer. The combinations are multiple, but the house said it: the more than perfect agreement is made around the tuna.

But there is more. Smoked salmon, shrimp, duck or cold meats, the Veuve Clicquot Rosé puts food-champagne pairings around these foods rich in possibilities.

The aromas of Veuve Clicquot Rosé also take off around fresh and juicy tomatoes. With beef carpaccio or ripe red fruit, these notes will be magnified by the aromas of Veuve Clicquot Rosé.

Thus sparkling, the rosés of the Veuve Clicquot vintage marry the summer imagination and the most delicious moments! An aromatic delicacy with the sophisticated spirit of the Veuve Clicquot.

They said: “Our wines must flatter both the eye and the palate. Plenty of moments to engrave of sharing around an iconic champagne.
