Christopher Bailey presented his vision of the Fall/Winter 2016 man on Monday as a mixture of genres orchestrated into the new Burberry collection. By signing off on a style that strikes the perfect balance of casual, sportswear, and military inspiration, the brand’s creative director is highlighting a madly elegant man whose tailoring is cut down to measured simplicity.
Christopher Bailey thus revisits Burberry’s long khaki-green duffle coat – with a nonchalant draping that marvelously perfects the male silhouette, the piece reveals an unusual length that’s the stuff dreams are made of. Subtly felted, tinted a shade of forest green, the duffle coat preserves its eternal beige cording… With this collection, Burberry is signing off on the look of a man who is profoundly anchored in time. Elegant as if there were nothing to be made of it.
