Ritz Paris’ 2021 Christmas: Objects Of Poetry

For 2021’s Christmas holiday, Paris’ Ritz is releasing a series of objects whose creation was entrusted to the one and only poetic illustrator Marin Montagut. A selection of very inspired pieces…

Christmas 2021 At The Ritz: Poetic Objects

The luxury and atmosphere of Paris’ Ritz have always inspired artists; it was true for Ernest Hemingway, as for Chanel, and even more so for Marcel Proust.

And that’s without mentioning the numerous films of Hollywood’s Golden Age, where the Ritz embodies the eternal and emblematic location of France’s art de vivre, or the Anglo-Saxon born adjective, “ritzy”, for all things pertaining to its singular hospitality and atmosphere.

Illustrator Marin Montagut’s will of appropriating himself the Ritz result according to the tradition results in one of its most aesthetically striking iterations. An ambition materialised in collaboration with Natalie Bader Messian, a member of the Ritz’s board of administrators. The result?

An original collection of objects to express and embody a poetic representation of the eternal den of parisian chic. the Belgian illustrator Marin Montagut blended his “objects of choice with the iconic universe of the the Ritz, with his collection of scret books inspired by the 18th century, made by hand in his workshop, embedding them with secrets about the hotel or, as was done back then, including short love letters…”, as it is marvelously put by the hotel.

As of the 25th of November 2021, the collection will be showcased at the Ritz’s concept store. Marvelous display cases will be shown, as will 3D landscapes and skits, cut up, painted and stuck together entirely by hand. All of these objects are unique and exclusive, as well as numbered.
