Didier Gomez started with the particularly luxurious atmosphere of the neighborhood to conceive the new Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg, located at 15 rue Boissy d’Anglas in the upscale Saint-Honoré neighborhood. By choosing to associate reminiscence for a former 18th-century ‘hôtel particulier’ with the codes of the luxury fashion houses located in the vicinity, the interior architect integrated a plethora of references to the history of fashion and bold design. This is how the subtle arrangement of the furnishings manages to mix style and inspiration with faux flippancy. The result: a fascinating array of materials and prints that compose an eclectic vision of resolutely Parisian chic. Through the hallways, rooms, and floors, fashion muses bring the visitor into their wake, magnified by the greatest names in photography. The signatures of Horst P. Horst, Chaloner Woods, and Irving Penn come one after the other. This inspiring portfolio of fashion recalls the history of this address, the headquarters for the magazine Marie-Claire in the 90s.

Within the 147 rooms of the Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg, the intimate, soft, and crystalline atmosphere conceived by Didier Gomez is the very image of Parisian luxury. Today, the hotel’s two terraces promise delight, pleasure, and serenity for their visitors. On the courtyard side is the Stay Faubourg terrace – just minutes away from the Faubourg Saint-Honoré lies this secret garden, an oasis of serenity that contrasts with the teeming neighborhood. Slatted wood, white parasols, and the murmur of fountains… Beneath the palm trees and leafy ferns as well as yellow and white flowers, the Stay welcomes a clientele seeking adventure and culinary delights. The garden’s summery atmosphere also lends itself to a health-conscious menu: fish à la plancha, with yuzu or virgin olive oil… With a desire to surprise and listen to its flavor travelers, the Stay has inaugurated a library/patisserie, where anyone can participate in the final creation by selecting the last ingredients. On the street side, the Bar du Faubourg terrace is rearing its head. On the rue Boissy d’Anglas – a semi-pedestrian street with a sense of calm that’s hard to find in the heart of Parisian life – decorator Didier Gomez has dressed a bar that’s different from the rest in perfect harmony with the environment of luxury boutiques. Houndstooth tweed chairs create an ideal decor to taste dishes from the “Fil-à-fil” menu by Yannick Alléno. Breakfast served until noon, delicate pastries, or couture cocktails inspired by the biggest names in Parisian fashion, it’s the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a bit of shelter from indiscriminate gazes.
