Emilio Pucci’s label has stuck out from the crowd since the 50s. Ever since his debuts – a sign of distinction for the Italian fashion brand founded by the discreet marquis Emilio Pucci de Barsento, Pucci prints have fascinated with their perpetual movement. Never timid, never static, the motifs imagined by Emilio have long given Pucci it’s signature look. After his death, many creative directors came in succession but none was truly able to revive the brand’s art, aside from Christian Lacroix perhaps. Today, Massimo Giorgetti seems to have understood Pucci’s talent and approach, and is finally able to revive its former nobility.
For Spring/Summer 2017, the creative director seems to literally have splashed buckets of pigments on perfectly cut clothing. Respecting and honoring the Prince of Prints and his history of colors, the Italian designer deposits, or prints rather, on colors and shapes. On this leather coat designed like a game of motifs that plays out with a juxtaposition of surprisingly complementary colors. With waves and crisp colors, the sending of a few optical impressions turns the piece into something sensational. Glamorous, colorful, and sexy, just like Pucci’s style, this composition is sure to ravish lovers of summer!
