1957-2017. Several months before the official opening of Baselworld and to honor 60 years in the business, Omega presented two brand new sleek versions of their iconic timepiece. The Speedmaster is presented in 38mm, recalling the style and look of its predecessor – a lightly pure and retouched design. Somewhere between simplicity and remarkable design, nicknamed “Cappuccino”, it’s distinguishable by its stainless steel and Sedna 18K gold case as well as its brown taupe leather bracelet. An exemplary style from a complete collection for men and women, one of its most remarkable characteristics is without a doubt its diamond-encrusted bezel. Equipped with a tachymetric scale on a brown aluminum ring, the Speedmaster 38mm effortlessly combines the refinement of diamonds with the resolutely sporty DNA of the original timepiece.
The second watch to be introduced, the Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer, takes on the brand’s automobiling tradition and heritage. Revisited with a black matte case, the spirit and aesthetic of its predecessors become immediately evident when observing the new Speedmaster Automatic’s dial. The minute style characteristic of this stainless steel watch first appeared on the 1968 Speedmaster. This dial is an hommage to the heritage of sport cars, while the black leather bracelet houses an orange rubber insert. Micro-perforations were done on the bracelet with the help of a drilling tool to reveal the orange rubber and highlight the watch’s resolutely sporty look. The latest Speedmaster to be certified a Master Chronometer, the Speedmaster Racing Chronometer is given a 9900 caliber – the highest degree of precision around. These two flawless releases will be available soon.
