Angela Missoni will celebrate 20 years at the head of the family brand’s creative direction – for Fall/Winter 2017-2018, it’s in pure Missoni tradition that the designer worked with on accent on knits within a kaleidoscope of colors and geometric motifs, the label’s signature.

Missoni’s chic hasn’t aged a day. With a distinctly Italian flamboyance, Missoni designs dreamy knit sweaters, dresses, oversize wool tops, and fur scarves of the same breed. The key piece in this runway was a combo of motifs and fabrics that only Missoni could pull off, the figurehead of the brand’s style. By pairing different fabrics, most notably knits and fur, an apparent yet audacious pairing is in the works for next season.

For the finale of their Fall/Winter 2017-2018 runway, Missoni brought out models with pussy hats. Even the runway’s music got political: “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” by Gil Scott Heron rang out across the viewing area – but in fact, Missoni revisited these pink hats with the brand’s own codes. “I felt the need to acknowledge that in these uncertain times, there are bonds between us that can become strong and reassuring,” she declared among the crowd. “The bonds that unite those who respect human rights. Please join me and my family on this runway, and let’s show the world that the world community is united and not afraid.” Definitively, fashion is waking up against the state of the world.
