The 2024 edition of the Puzzle bag is crafted from a blend of luxurious materials and artisanal techniques, characteristic of Loewe.
Jonathan Anderson, known for his innovative approach, explained in 2015 the genesis of this icon: “I wanted to find a new way to construct a bag, fundamentally questioning its structure. It was about deconstructing a conventional bag to create a flat object with a three-dimensional function.”
The Puzzle bag, born from Jonathan Anderson’s vision, was the first bag created for Loewe, marking a turning point for the house. At the time, Loewe had not introduced a new bag shape since the 1980s, making the Puzzle even more revolutionary. This bag, constructed from 75 pieces of leather meticulously assembled, requires a process that takes over nine hours and involves more than 500 distinct actions, including cutting, hand-stitching, and painting. This complex technique makes the Puzzle much more than an accessory; it is a living tribute to Loewe’s artisanal heritage.
