I Love Paris: The Paris Match Exhibition at La Vallée Village

Paris Match, the legendary news magazine, partners with La Vallée Village in 2024 to present “I Love Paris,” an unprecedented open-air photographic exhibition celebrating the splendor of the French capital. Until October 31, 2024, this visual retrospective pays homage to the personalities that have shaped the legend of the City of Light.

The “I Love Paris” exhibition is structured around twenty large-format photographs, honoring the emblematic figures that have marked Paris’s history. These carefully selected images testify to the passage of cultural and political icons through the heart of the capital: Maria Callas, Alain Delon, the Beatles, Brigitte Bardot, Françoise Hardy, and Jacques Dutronc, as well as Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg, and international stars like Jackie Chan and Clark Gable… These photographs, bearing the Paris Match signature, capture rare moments—occasions when Paris became the backdrop for encounters between the greats of this world and the myth that the City of Light represents.

Marc Brincourt, the exhibition’s curator, along with Michel Maïquez, former artistic director of Paris Match, and the Development/Expos team, has designed an original route within La Vallée Village. The idyllic setting of this shopping village, located just a short distance from Paris, offers an atmosphere conducive to the contemplation of these pop culture legends.

The pedestrian and landscaped streets thus become the backdrop for an open-air photographic walk, accessible to everyone. Paris Match, which has been a witness to major events and the personalities that have shaped the era for 75 years, draws from its exceptional photographic archive to offer the public a privileged view of the city. The “I Love Paris” exhibition reveals not only the timeless charm of the capital but also the intimacy of these icons in a Paris that is at times dreamt, at times lived.
